Dorado 806 Presents “I Want Presence (now with yule log)” — A New Immersive Exhibition by David “Spooky” Harris Opening December 13, 2025

Santa Monica, CA — December 13, 2025— Dorado 806 is thrilled to announce “I Want Presence (now with yule log)”, a new solo exhibition by mixed-media artist David “Spooky” Harris, opening Saturday, December 13, 2025. Building on Harris’s growing body of psychologically charged, humor-laced work, the show transforms Dorado 806 into an immersive landscape of painting, sculpture, text, memory, and ritual—inviting visitors to step into an alternate holiday season where the unconscious is the main event.

This exhibition marks Harris’s latest collaboration with Dorado 806 following his 24-hour experimental residency “Sleepless”, during which he created an entire exhibition in a single continuous session. “I Want Presence” expands that spirit of immediacy, absurdity, and emotional excavation. A holiday séance of memory, humor & the collective unconscious

In “I Want Presence", Spooky Harris takes over Dorado 806 with a constellation of new paintings, sculptural interventions, and text works that probe how we make sense of our rapidly shifting collective unconscious. The installation blends his signature bold, graphic language with a more intimate, ritualistic edge—especially through the introduction of a new sculptural centerpiece: A hand-built Yule Log sculpture that invites visitors to deposit their own “burns to the season”—written grievances, regrets, or emotional leftovers from the year—directly into its log-like body. The act becomes a participatory ritual of release and renewal, a symbolic burning and letting-go before the year turns over.

The exhibition constructs what Harris calls a space of “conjoined memory and non-linear memory,” reflecting his belief that memory does not move in a straight line but rather swirls, loops, and stutters in ways both chaotic and familiar. Visitors will encounter imagery that feels like déjà vu from a dream you swear you’ve had before: part fever dream, part fantasy, part holiday stuffing and badly wrapped presents.

As Spooky puts it: “Memories aren’t linear. Time is a myth with great PR. I’m more interested in the cracks where things get fuzzy.” “I Want Presence* is part holiday celebration, part self-excavation, and part performative abandon. It’s a show about the unruly logic of memory, the weight we carry into winter, and the strange comfort of letting it all blur together. Visitors are invited to linger, participate, and spend a little “artsy cheer” with Spooky during his second-favorite time of the year.
