ARTIST STATEMENT

I recently took an 8 month sabbatical and moved to the beach, just a few houses away from the water. I focused on the simple and constantly evolving relationship between the shore, water and sky. I foraged treasures daily that washed ashore as inspiration in my studio. I scoured the local second hand shops for cast off yarns from other yarn lovers stashes. I’ve always been fascinated with structures, both large and small. Being so close to the water, temporality leaving behind my responsibilities and belongings, I constructed a fantasy landscape from the new materials I had gathered. These new sculptures represent the fragility of connections, how they are in constant change and how sometimes you catch a glimpse of perfection.
